Introduction

Consortium for Innovative Research & Education of Asia (iRE-Asia) is an international consortium starting the activities from 2011 and was officially registered in Yamaguchi, Japan as a non-profit general corporation in July 2017.

iRE-Asia aims mainly to cultivate global innovation human resources capable for responding flexibly to the future creation and social change through the interdisciplinary harmonization  in various fields and the cooperation between universities and companies in Asia, mainly in China, Japan and Korea. Furthermore, iRE-Asia is encouraging international students to create new and smart innovative systems as well as venture companies through international comprehensive cooperation.

The main activities of iRE-Asia are 

  1. Summer Program for Innovative Engineering Design (SP!ED) :
    It is usually held in August every year and implemented by three countries, Japan, China and Korea in a rotation basis. The first SP!ED was held in 2013 by Yamaguchi University in Ube, Yamaguchi, Japan.
  1. Creative Engineering Design Competition (CEDC) :
    It is usually held in December every year and the first CEDC was held in 2011 by Yamaguch University in Kokura, Kyushu, Japan.
  1. International Conference on Innovative Application Research and Education (ICIARE) :
    It is implemented together with CEDC in December every year. The first ICIARE was held in 2013 by Dalian University of Technology in Dalian, Liaoning, China.
  1. International Journal of Engineering Innovation and Management (IJEIM) :
    iRE-Asia is also publishing an academic journal in order to provide an opportunity and platform for students, academics, researchers and industry experts to share their knowledge, research results, ideas and technique know-how, as well as to create the innovation in research, education, industry and social life.
