Creative Engineering Design Competition

Welcome to CEDC2015
To encourage engineering students create design solutions to real-world problems, Creative Engineering Design Competition (CEDC) will be held as a special session of International Conference on Innovative Application Research and Education (ICIARE'2015). Students with brilliant engineering design ideas are encouraged to submit their proposals and to demonstrate their talents in front of world-renowned experts in design and manufacturing. Submitted reports are judged on the basis of creativity, practicality, integrity of analysis and design methodology, and quality of a fabricated prototype and a final report. All participants of CEDC will be recognized by the conference chair and winners will be presented with awards including certificates. CEDC will also host a round table of international social exchange that can be a seed for possible future international collaborations between attendants.
Eligibility and Scope
Any graduate or undergraduate registered as a full-time student is eligible to participate. Both individual and group projects are welcome. An individual may participate in several entries provided each submission is on a different subject.
Judging
The judge committee includes experts of CEDC 2015 from both academia and industry. The project posters will be evaluated based on the contents and a 5 minutes oral presentation at the CEDC 2015 session. Prototype demonstration of the proposed design idea is requested as on-site demonstrations.
Awards
Award certificates and other prizes will be presented at the conference closure ceremony. The prizes will be distributed among the members in each winner team. All participants of CEDC 2015 will receive recognition from the conference and organizing committee.

Accommodation
We have three recommended hotels for participants of ICIARE 2015.
Foreign participants will be arranged to International apartment of UJS, double room for two students, single room for a professor.
Chinese participants will be arranged to Mingdu Hotel(名都大酒店) and Hanting Inn (汉庭海友客栈江苏大学店). The Hanting Inn is nearby the front door of Jiangsu University, and there are 6km from Jiangsu University to Mingdu Hotel.
Venue
Zhenjiang is situated in the southeast of China, at the junction of the Yangtze River and the Grand Canal, 63 kilometers (40 miles) from Nanjing, the capital city of Jiangsu Province. It has a history of 3000 years. Earlier Chinese travelers classified Zhenjiang’s scenery as ‘The Best Landscape under Heaven’, and indeed the area known as the Southern Suburbs was often used as a theme in landscapes by famous Chinese painters.A local specialty is a steamed meat pastry called Crab Cream Bun. Other famous special products include fragrant black vinegar (鎮江香醋), Chinkiang pork (镇江肴肉), and pickles.
