To encourage engineering students create design solutions to real-world problems, Creative Engineering Design Competition (CEDC) will be held as a special session of International Conference on Innovative Application Research and Education (ICIARE'2014). Students with brilliant engineering design ideas are encouraged to submit their proposals and to demonstrate their talents in front of world-renowned experts in design and manufacturing. Submitted reports are judged on the basis of creativity, practicality, integrity of analysis and design methodology, and quality of a fabricated prototype and a final report. All participants of CEDC will be recognized by the conference chair and winners will be presented with awards including certificates and cash prizes. CEDC will also host a round table of international social exchange that can be a seed for possible future international collaborations between attendants
Eligibility and Scope
Any graduate or undergraduate registered as a full-time student is eligible to participate. Both individual and group projects are welcome. An individual may participate in several entries provided each submission is on a different subject.
Judging
The judge committee includes experts of ICIARE2014 from both academia and industry. The project posters will be evaluated based on the contents and a 5minute oral presentation at the CEDC2014 session. Prototype demonstration of the proposed design idea is requested as on-site demonstrations.
Awards
Award certificates and other prizes will be presented at the conference closure ceremony. The prizes will be distributed among the members in each winner team. All participants of CEDC2014 will receive recognition from the conference and organizing committee.

Abstrac Submission
Abstrac (1 page, 1.5-spaced) in e-form (pdf) should be sent to Prof. Kilto Chong (kitchong@chonbuk.ac.kr) at JBNU, Prof. Deukjin Lee (deokjlee@kunsan.ac.kr) at KSNU, Miss HyunJin Kim (金 賢 眞)(icf_khj@jbnu.ac.kr), the conference secretariat at JBNU, before October 24th, 2014. It should contain the title of the presentation, full names and addresses of the authors, simple explanation of your team work.
CEDC Registration Fee
All teams are required to register before the deadline with the project topics and team members. Each team needs to present at least one member at CEDC event in ICIARE2014.
The registration fee of CEDC Student Team : US$100 or 100,000 KRW per team.
Pay methods: at the receiption desk on-site on 30 Nov (Sun) ~ 1st Dec (Mon).
Accommodation
The conference venue of Chonbuk National University can provide accommodation.
Two students for CEDC will share one room. Each one professor for ICIARE uses one room.

Transportation
Incheon International Airport -> Buy bus ticket bound for Jeonju at Exit No. 8 -> Get onto the
Limousine bus bound for Jeonju at bus station No. 9C (trip will take about 4 hours)-> Get off the
bus at Limousine Bus Terminal -> take the taxi to Chonbuk National University (fare costs you
about KRW 5,000).
The Jeonju train station is approximately 10 minutes away by taxi from Chonbuk National
University and cost about KRW 4,000.
