Creative Engineering Design Competition

Welcome to CEDC2013
To encourage engineering students create design solutions to real-world problems, Creative Engineering Design Competition (CEDC) will be held as a special session of International Conference on Innovative Application Research and Education (ICIARE'2013). Students with brilliant engineering design ideas are encouraged to submit their proposals and to demonstrate their talents in front of world-renowned experts in design and manufacturing. Submitted reports are judged on the basis of creativity, practicality, integrity of analysis and design methodology, and quality of a fabricated prototype and a final report. All participants of CEDC will be recognized by the conference chair and winners will be presented with awards including certificates and cash prizes. CEDC will also host a round table of international social exchange that can be a seed for possible future international collaborations between attendants
Eligibility and Scope
Any graduate or undergraduate registered as a full-time student is eligible to participate. Both individual and group projects are welcome. An individual may participate in several entries provided each submission is on a different subject.
Judging
The judge committee includes experts of ICIARE2013 from both academia and industry. The project posters will be evaluated based on the contents and a 5 minute oral presentation at the CEDC2013 session. Prototype demonstration of the proposed design idea is requested as on-site demonstrations.
Awards
Award certificates and other prizes will be presented at the conference closure ceremony. The prizes will be distributed among the members in each winner team. All participants of CEDC2013 will receive recognition from the conference and organizing committee.

Registration
The registration fee is US$100 or 650 RMB per team.
Accommodation
The conference place, Convention Center at Dalian University of Technology, can provide accommodation. The participant who needs us to reserve the hotel room pleases state in registration form. Detailed information of accommodation reservation will be available in the registration form.
Venue
Dalian is a very popular destination among Chinese tourists and foreign visitors. The impression Dalian gives to the world is of a city of lawns, squares, fountains and gardens. Numerous bathing places and beaches in the city are popular venues for the locals to relax from everyday work and stress. Located to the southwest of Dalian is Lushun, the former military and strategic port colonized by Russia. Today it is a place with museums and historical sites for tourists to learn the history of the city.
